    I'm 14 and weigh almost 11st. I have quite large legs and want to be slim, help?
    I'm female, I go to the gym as often as I can, usually 2-3 times a week, all my friends are really slim and it makes me feel horrible, I need tips on how to loose weight fast.

    There is no secret - eat less, exercise more, eat the "right" foods. There are literally thousands of diet books out there.

    Muscle weighs more than fat so if you are building up muscle mass you will weigh more.

    Hi! Make a list of people who you could talk to about this who might be supportive. You need a few different types of support: 1) ONE really good person who you will be accountable to - some you can tell how you did each week, what went well, what didn't, what you're proud of, etc. 2) a number of people who you can talk to when you're having trouble - in person, or on the phone, or my writing to them. 3) People you can exercise with 4) People you can enjoy making/eating healthy meals with 5) People who can help you learn what you don't know about how this works 5) People you can talk to about the feelings you have that you don't want to talk about. Some of your support people can do more than one of the things above. I will be one of your support people if you want. I like to email a lot, I have time to talk by phone or by computer. I know a lot about this because I've been struggling with this for many years. Sometimes I lose weight and keep it off and am happy with myself and sometimes I weigh more and am unhappy. I'm still learning about why I do this and what will work best for me.

    PS If you lose weight fast without knowing why you gain weight, you'll probably gain it back. Try to keep a diary or journal of what you think or feel. It doesn't matter if you don't write in it every day. What country do you live in? Different countries treat slim/fat people in very different ways, so understanding your cultural conditioning about why at 14 you already feel "Horrible" is important. Your family has probably helped you feel that way and will not be good support people for you, but there may be some people in your family who CAN help in some ways. How tall are you?
    I'm only 5 feet tall, so when I gain weight it looks bad very fast.

    I repeat - the only way to lose weight is to eat less (of the right foods) and exercise more. All the talking in the world will NOT take weight off a person.

    I'm 15 now, sorry for the very late reply, I'm around 5,8 I gain weight fast but never seem to loose it, I'm tall so my weight really doesn't look good. And you're right, my family make me feel like crap.
