Steam shower seems clogged and a horrible anal gland smell comes and goes
Steam shower has started spitting and not working at times. Seems like it is having trouble heating later we notice a horrid smell in the closet where the main steam shower unit is located. Odor only comes on some days we found no dead rodent even blamed our dog on her anal gland now we know it was not her!

You way want to explain this better because I don't see a connection between steam showers and a dogs anal gland.

I meant the smell smells like this odor if u have never been exposed to it; be thankful the smell is like something dead. We find no evidence of this. Only the steam shower acting clogged. Smell is not in shower. It is in closet.

Is this used often and is there an issue with mildew in the area?

Yes. Every day. However, it has just started the clog issue some days it kicks on and begins to heat; other days, it does not. I have limestone in shower so, at times, there is a little mildew visible. The shower is cleaned 6days a week.

How would I ck out why my steam shower is spewing and not heating, at times.
Steam shower is used everyday. No problem till now. I thought maybe there was a mineral build-up or something I could fix. Also fishy smell emitting in closet where unit is mounted on wall. This happens sporadically as well. I have noticed that when the unit works properly, there is no smell. Only when it acts clogged and doesn't heat. It spews and sputters. Sometimes, it just doesn't heat. It comes on, just doesn't produce steam

How many TImes do you intend to create threads on this topic... Isn't this the third one already?

Site rules specify.. one thread per topic.

Late edit... seperate threads have been combined.

    Hi guys...

MLB333, I'd have to recommend that you contact the manufacturer of the steam generator itself. There is some maintenance that is required on most steam systems and I'm betting you haven't done much on this unit, right?

Get the name brand and then contact the manufacturer's technical department... they should be able to advise best, OK?

Please pop back once you determine the issue (I'm betting lines are clogged)...

    Thanks...

    Mark

Smoothy, I am sorry, I am new to this and forgive me if I didn't do it right! I will definitely have to go back and read those site rules. I appreciate your kind remark.

No sweat... I was the person that requested a mod to combine the threads... and I mentioned it because a lot of new users will just keep posting until they get an answer rather than wait... and in some cases they do it by accident. It was more of an FYI, so you knew and didn't do it angin and again. It's a rare thread that doesn't get answered... sometimes you just have to wait a day or two. Keeps all the info and answers in one place... otherwise it gets confusing.
