I am a resident of Ottawa, Ontario and am looking for help.
I am a proud Father of a 1 1/2 year old boy. His mother and I have separated and now she will not let me see him. I am trying to go to family court for joint custody and access. I am also willingly paying child support. Legal aid denied me for assistance because make just over their set amount to receive assistance, yet I make too little to pay the lawyer costs. All I want is to be able to see my son. He is my life! If someone could help me get a lawyer cheap or pro bono, I will forever be in debt to you. If you are reading this and have some advice/help for me, PLEASE help me! I just want to be a Dad again.

No one here can or will recommend a specific Attorney or offer "cheap" or free advice.

The general advice, however, is that you do not need an Attorney to file for visititation. I would start there and worry about joint custody later. She will undoubtedly get physical custody.

Your child support obligation can be set at the same time.

It wasn't me . In Ottawa Canada [ 4 Answers ]

Last month I started getting calls from a debt collector. They say that back in October of 2002 I was in a car that got pulled over and wasn't wearing a seat belt (this was apparently in Toronto) and now I owe them $130.. Problem with this is that at the time I lived in Ottawa and was most likely...
