I don't entirely understand what you are asking. Someone paid a lot of money to get married? Was this a fraudulent marriage?

A legal marriage in the US is just that - if all the paperwork is legal, the marriage is legal. Citizenship does not matter.

Even if Immigration declares a marriage to be illegal and/or fraudulent, it is legal in the eyes of the law and has to be dissolved through divorce.

    Does that answer your question?

You can get married without any green card at all... Marriage does not grant the other spouse any right to be here. They have to apply and be granted one. Marriage doesn't speed it up... and it certainly doesn't guarantee it at all.

Marriage is one issue... immigrations is a totally separate one.

Incidentally... what is described is a classic case of immigrations fraud... I would report it to the INS.

$10 or $10 Million dollars... a wedding doesn't give you a right to a green card.

    1. marriage in the US has no bearing on citizenship.
    2. they can be illegal and get married in the US.
    3. they do have to sign, and do not pay "lots of money"
They have to get a marriage license at the court house, they sign for it and show some ID, Then have the judge or pastor do the service.

    4. If it is a legal marriage, it will be on file at the court house in the county where they got the marriage license

License is about 100 or less. The judge to do the wedding is often 100 or less, or a local pastor for 150 or less unless it is a larger on site wedding
