    What lien? The only way to remove a lien is to pay it.

    Is that what you are asking?

    Why are you paying a lien on a house you do not own?

    Lien judgement removal by non owner
    I live in a rented house owned by my mother I get a lien againtst my house by a lawyer /debt collector I'm not the owner how can they do this and how do I remove it

    PLEASE post each question once -
    A lien cannot be filed against property if the debtor is not the owner of the property. I would venture a guess that the Attorney did NOT thoroughly research ownership before filing the lien. If the lien is solely against you and you do not have ANY ownership in the property then your mother - or her Attorney - must notify the lienholder that there is an error and she wants the lien removed IMMEDIATELY.

    You cannot get it removed. You can attempt to get it removed by advising the lienholder of the error but a DEMAND from her will work faster than a REQUEST from you.

    The only way - as I have advised you on your other thread - to remove a lien is to pay it; however, it property which is not owned by you is liened for your debt the lien CAN be removed.

    The owner of the property can request ( demand) it be taken off. If they don't, the owner can file in court for a

    I'll fill in the missing words here.

    "... for an Order that it be removed."

    If it goes that far the property owner can request that the person who filed the lien pay all the property owner's legal fees. That request (in my area) will/would be granted.

    If the lien is removed make certain that it is properly addressed on the title to the house AND all credit reports.
