Ceiling fan trouble

My three-speed ceiling fan starts slowly and seems to rub. The second and third speeds don't work. However, when I switch the directional button, all three speeds work. The fan still rubs though. A combination of a bad capacitor and a loose screw perhaps?

O.K. well a mean spirited tenant bent the fan blades down to about a 60 degree angle. I tried to bend them back up but now the whole thing wobbles and is not balanced. Is there anything I can do short of replacing it? It looks like a Hunter Augusta III model 21543 with three lights. Thanks. ...

Just bought a ceiling fan with a wireless remote. But the instructions are very unclear as to where the transmitter goes that controls the remote?

I had an existing fan that ran to a switch. It has two turning knobs; one for dimming the light and the other for the fan to turn on and off, and adjusting the speeds.
