GE microwave (JVM1533WD002) low speed fan runs all the time
This microwave's fan runs on low speed all the time as soon as you start the microwave heating on any cycle. Once it is done heating and turn off, the fan also goes off. Any idea why the low speed fan runs every time the microwave runs? I'm electrical savy. I've check the 4 heat sensors and they all seem OK. Two of them will stip power to the circuit board all together if bad so I know it is not them. The other two I believe are OK because if I disconnect one of these two, the power goes out to the circuit board. The other one does not have continuity and I have a brand new back-up sensor and that one also does not have continuity so I know this fourth one is OK. My thought is that either I missed a sensor (are there more than 4 in this model?) or I have a bad circuit board. Any thoughts? Thanks!

If you are really electrically savy as you claim you'll throw out this unit as you should know that you are getting nuked every time you turn the thing on. And as for working on them I'm sure you have happily exposed yourself to more radiation than you'd care to even imagine. I threw my nukeitmachine out 4 years ago and have regained my health in more ways than one. A friend of mine was a nuclear reactor Lt. in a foreign navy and warned me that even heating up an innocent cup of water resulted in just about the same amount of nuked water you'd get from the water from the nuclear reactor unit he worked on due to the ions. Why do you think your instant coffee bubbles up? It's due to these nuked ions. And they have banned microwave machines over in Russia for just this type of reasoning.

So, do yourself a favor and throw it out before you really end up cooking yourself literally. Am also surprised you didn't get one hell of a whallop from the stored up power when you opened the case of the unit and touched the components.

All microwave ovens have a fan that cools the power transformer during use. The microwaves are directed into the oven through a wave guide and distributed by a fan, and there may be one or two fans depending on the design, it is normal for the fan to run during use-----however, if you're referring to the exhaust/vent fan, that should not run unless turned on manually, and should obvioulsy be able to be operated independent of the cook cylce. You might want to post this in the appliances section.
