No 24 V to the Gas Valve
No 24 V to the Gas Valve.
All sequence is rigth, no code ligths in the controler, both fans ans igniter turn on but no 24 V are sent to the gas valve, If I put 24 V to the gas valve, it does click. Also how to test the flame sensor with a meter? Thanks |

I have an older Carrier natural gas furnace (1970s). Pilot doesn't stay lit. New thermocouple didn't help. Repair man says I need a new gas valve, $700 plus install, suggests replace entire furnace. Can I replace valve with universal valve and save $$?
The gas valve comes on and I hear ignition. The flame then immediately goes out and the process repeats. I turned the unit off because as long as I leave it on the process repeats continuously.
