I am guessing this is a some sort of laminate floor maybe a snap or click type. So who put this down on top of carpet? Sounds like the sub floor is not flat enough to get laminate without a leveler or shims

    Hey there,

I had a pretty similar thing happen to me after I installed floating floor in the basement of my other home. Like you, I also installed the floor directly on top of the carpet which was a big mistake (I even took up the carpet and put the recommended moisture barrier under the carpet prior to installing).

When I started to see warping I checked around and it turned out the major cause of the warping was from moisture from the carpet itself - I had to take up the floor, replace the warped pieces and re-install the entire thing. It may not be oodles of fun but it works! Purchase the proper underlay for a job like this because I guarantee re-doing flooring you have already installed once is no treat :(

FYI - I was also told the warping could have resulted if I had not left ample room for the flooring to settle after installation - turns out this wasn't relative to me but you may want to check that also.

    Hope this helps! :)

vshane hit the nail on the head.

Bad idea to install over carpet.

There should be spring spacers at the wall so flooring can expand.
