2003 toyota corolla s fuel pressure problem
2003 toyota corolla s won't start. It died while I was going up a hill the other day. It made a whining noise right before it died. I had my car towed to a friends house with a good shop to work on it. I checked the fuel pressure underneath the hood and there was absolutely no pressure. I've already replaced the fuel pump and still the car has no fuel pressure. When trying to start my car it just keeps trying to turn over... for ever. I'm pretty sure it's a problem in the fuel system. Why isn't my car getting gas, and why won't it start? Please help!

You'll need to find out if the proper power and ground are actually getting to the fuel pump.
Can you hear the fuel system prime when you turn the key to the RUN position? If so, good. Next you need to find out if you're getting fuel pressure out of the tank, at the first connection forward of the tank. Be careful here with the potential of spraying fuel.
While under there, inspect the fuel lines for possible damage that could prevent fuel from reaching the engine and fuel rail.

I should have mentioned this before, when I turn they key to the start position the fuel pump doesn't make any noise. Although after I try starting the car when I let off the key then I can hear the fuel pump noise. What does this mean?

Ohm out your crank sensor connector let us know what you get.
Sometimes water pumps leak down there and they go open circuit.
Hearing the pump prime after start attempt is designed that way.

If the pump doesn't cycle on when the key is turned to the RUN position, that usually means the system prime pressure is already present.
If you hear the pump after a short time cranking, the fuel system is re-priming.

But before, you said that you had no fuel pressure when testing under the hood and that you already replaced the fuel pump. Has it run since the fuel pump was replaced? Who did the fuel pump diagnosis and repair?
