Leaving my dog for a week
As some of you know Duke has separation anxiety... It has been getting better, I can leave for a night without him pulling his fur out, but I'm leaving on a hunting trip for a week and can't take duke. How can I make the week easier?

Where is he going to be for the week? Might give him something that smells like you. If it works with kids I don't see why it wouldn't work for a dog.

Is your mom going to be there most of the time? That will make it a lot easier, ust ask her to make sure she plays with him and walks him regularly to help take his mind off the fact you are gone.

Would your mom let you put his crate in her bedroom while you are gone?
If he has separation anxiety, especially from you, then being close to your mom at night would help a lot and would make him feel a bit more comfortable.
