    Young pup choked on something.
About an hour ago I went outside to find Hunter coughing, gagging, and whining. I rushed him to the vet and they think something is lodged in either his airway or esophagus. He's at the vet right now getting sedated then getting x-rays, and then getting whatever it is out of him. I'm just wondering if this could cause permanent damage (Physically or mentally)?. While typing this the vet called and said he ate a few thorn bushes.. Yes thorn bushes, they were jabbed in his tonsils all down his esophagus and in his stomach. Now.. We don't have anything "thorny" in our yard so I don't know where he would have gotten ahold of them? He hasn't been on a walk for a few days (His little rib problem).. So how could have he gotten ahold of them?(maybe someone has a suggestion.. )

Not sure where he could have gotten into them, maybe from higher winds blowing them from another area?

Yes it very well could cause permanent damage both mentally and physically, but only time will tell. Your vet will be able to tell you better than any of us.

Sorry to hear this Emily, hope little Hunter feels well soon. Keep us posted.

Dogs are bad about trying to eat anything that looks like food to them at the moment. As was said... lots of MIGHTS here until you know more from the Vet.

I won't be able to get him until 5 (it's 1:45 now), he is still gagging, there hoping It is just from irritation and there isn't anymore thorns in his throat.. Ahhh I just want him back home!

I know what you mean... don't have a dog now... but have had several in the past. You get really attached to them.

Just thought I'd update you guys, hunter is home, and doing good :). He is on anti inflamatory drugs and a strick diet of soft food. He is being a little suck, and is going to be spoiled rotten for the next few days, but I'm just glad he's okay!
