    Furnace won't shut off
    Replaced the thermostat, however the only way to shut it off is at the circuit breaker.

    A direct short between the red wire and the white wire could do this

My electric furnace was kicking the breaker and shutting down. I'd reset and it would work fina a week oe two then blow it again. Now it won't shut down. Is this a thermostat problem or something else.

Recently installed a noma programmable thermostat and same worked fine for four days but today the furnace would not shut off despite the temp rising to 78+F. The temp was set for 67F. The only way to get the furnace to stop running was to shut it off manually. How do I correct this problem?
