Where is my career headed after Uni?
The original plan was to study a Bachelor of Arts at James Cook University here in Queensland, and then take a Graduate Diploma in Teaching afterwards.
I'm finishing my 2nd year, and about to start my last year in 2011, but my mind has completely changed course, and I don't know what I want to do anymore after uni. I can't seem to do much with a BA degree, unless I complete further study. I have limited amount of skills for the work force, and a BA gives me no work placement or anything. I'm trying to get a full time job in Admin or something similar in the meantime, but everyone wants at least one years experience. I have nothing except about 8 months experience in Hospitality - and I'm not keen on a career in hospitality. I feel as though I'm stuck in limbo where I'll have to pay a fortune for a course I don't even enjoy. I feel as though I should do a course in something creative as I enjoy those sorts of things, but I mainly enjoy it all as a hobby, and if I wanted a career in it, I'd need to move to a larger city - which I don't want to do, because I moved to this small city only recently. Sorry this is so long... Help would be greatly appreciated... |
