Ceiling fan pull switch
My brother-in-law tried to replace a broken pull switch on his ceiling fan. All the switches he bought have different color wired listings. His wire are black, brown, blue and yellow. Can you tell me the number each one of these correspond to. He didn't mark anything when he disconnected the old switch.

I am trying to replace a ceiling fan pull switch as the chain broke off inside the switch. I have purchased two switches both being 3 speed 4 wire switches. I removed the old switch marking where the wires came out from. Installed the new switch inserting the wires in the position they originally...
