When we flush the toilet it causes a flow up into the standing shower next to it. We have a separated bath room that works fine so do not believe it is the septic tank. Would a liquid drain cleaner help or must we remove the toilet and run a snake down the line to unclogg it? Thanks,...

The standpipe that my washing machine drains into has suddenly started backing up and consistently overflows. I poured Drano down it, hoping to fix the problem, but that has done nothing. Any suggestions other than calling a plumber?

We just bought our house and the home inspector passed the house, but as soon as we moved in, the dishwasher and the washing machine started to back up into the shower.
