    Wonder whether stay or go
If someone suffers from chronic pain and has been prescribed Schedule II narcotics on a long-term basis, are they still considered an addict?

Could you elaborate on the connection between the question in your post and the title? Are you thinking you might leave someone if they are "considered an addict"? Why is it important what they are "considered"? Seems to me the important thing is show they treat others and themselves.

Yeah, I am thinking about finally really walking away from a long and pretty stormy relationship and just trying to clarify things in my own mind, my Co-D issues, etc. I have since learned that even a person who is legally prescribed Class II narcotics is termed, in "mental" jargon, "chemically dependent". Lots of other factors come in to play as to whether they are an "addict". Trying to get some insight into the bizarre behavior, thinking patterns, etc.
