What is in restraing orders in child custody cases?
What exatly is in restraining orders in child custody cases? And can the custodial parent tell the noncustodial parent whom they can not have around the child? Or does it have to be legally documented with a persons name on the restraining order?

Need more info BUT in general restraining orders are very specific. X cannot be in the company of Y.

No, the custodial parent can't just make decisions off the cuff about who can and cannot have contact with the child. The custodial parent CAN go to Court and request only supervised visitation with no one else there but the parent, the child, the observer. That solves the problem of third parties IF there is proof that visitation must be limited in some way for the good of the child.

But, as I said, need more info.

As already addressed, we need more info before we can properly advise you.

I know judges will sometimes make generic rulings such as prohibiting the parent from having the children in the presence of someone who is a gang member. They don't make a list of every single individual, just state that the parent is not to have the children around those types of people.

Also as noted, the custodial parent cannot just decide at random who they do or don't want the children around. If they feel a particular individual is harmful to the child(ren), then they can request that prohibition through the court.
