    Pneumatic nailder air requirements
My stanley boshct franeing nailer... up to 3 1/2 " nailes... requires about 100 psi... for a axtra compressor to keep in the house.. as long as the comp puts out 100 psi... will a 1 or 2 gal comp work just to do a few nails at a time...
    Tks... richard

Almost any compressor can give you 100psi (even ones that will NEVER be able to run a nailer)... most do more. What you are looking at is CFM. How many CFM does the nailer need? Do you ever plan to do more than JUST a nailer?

A small 1-2 gallon compressor will likely do the job depending on how fast you plan on nailing... like blam blam blam... in rapid succession enough times fast enough will overwelm a really small (as in really cheap) compressor without a high enough CFM rating. THe better name brand compressor manufacturers do make smaller units that do provide more than enough air for this purpose that are very portable.

My n79ww needs 7.8 cfm for 100 nails per min... or 50%... 3.9 for 50 per min... book says that... I just want a few nailes per min in the house at times... I just don't want to drag in 150 ft of hose from the garage for a small job... small 1 or 2 gal comp do about 1 cfm or so... as long as it fills up to shot.. a few a min.. will that work OK you think? Tks friend... richard...

As long as it's a compressor that has an air storage tank.

How many you can do in a given time will be a factor of the CFM rating, keep in mind those tend to be rated at 40 psi and also at 90 psi.. the numbers at the required 100 psi will be lower.

Don't try it with tankless compressors.
