Very low suction in my skimmer line
    Hi,
Please help! Im a poor teacher... lol

I have very low suction on my skimmer line.

    ~in ground pool

    ~the deep line works fine

~the skimmer line gets about as mcuh pressure to suck water through at the rate of a garden hose so some h2o some is getting through.

~I blew the line out with water a (both ways) and air (from pump back into pool). No help.

~ it just all of a sudden stopped in the middle of the summer..

The deep line works fine so I can circulate the water..

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated..

Just a question, but do you have a valve to regulate the flow from the deep line and the skimmer? There can only be one pipe going into the suction intake on the pump, so these two pipes have to meet and merge into one pipe somewhere. Sometimes it is as simple as a little diverter plate in the bottom of the skimmer that can cover or partially cover one of the holes, causing more or less flow from the other pipe. If you look you may find that something was accidentally moved or changed and thus the problem you are having.
