    Semen injection to get pregnant
My boyfriend and I are trying for a baby, but due to situational issues, it is not convenient for us to do this via intercourse. Instead, we have collected his semen in a small plastic container and I am going to inject it into my vagina after I remove my Implanon implant. So a few questions: Should I freeze the semen until use? How long should I wait after removing the implant? Can this method work? What are my chances of getting pregnant?

Your fertility and periods are meant to return right away after removal! Pending on your age and weight. Some are lucky some are not. Some fall pregnant 5days to 1 month after removal some it takes longer up to six months. It all depends on the person and the health. You don't have to wait but you should wait until you get your period back, then try! The semen will stay "good" for up to 6 months.
    Good Luck!

Why can't you just have sex with your boyfriend if you too feel you are ready for a baby? And have you involved your dr in this? It doesn't sound like you plan on using the sperm immediately. If that's the case, you need to talk with our dr. there are certain vitamins and minerals your dr may recommend you begin taking and he or she can also help you make sure the sperm is kept in the conditions it needs to be. If its not, the sperm will just die.

If the sperm is still wet and has not dried, is it still good? Will freezing it help?

I'm not a dr, so I'm not sure what the ideal conditions are. I know temperature is important though. Also, you need to make sure that the container you're putting it into and whatever you are using to inject it with are sterile. You do not want to risk putting bacteria or germs into yourself or putting the sperm into something that will kill it before it even gets into you. This is why you need to talk to your dr. I know sperm can't survive in too hot conditions, but I don't know what's too hot for sperm. Your dr would know.

    What?

"Fall pregnant?" I've never heard that expression. Isn't it "get pregnant"?

Semen in storage - an interesting concept.

It's archaic. You'll find it in classic, especially British, novels.

Labs and fertility clinics do it all the time -- under ideal conditions and knowing what they are doing.

Sperm must be maintained at a temperature of 96.8 or so in order to remain viable. I don't know how a novice, outside of a labs, can keep sperm alive other than through natural sexual intercourse. Good luck with your endeavors.
