    Basement drainage
I am very confused about my basement drainage. I have a sump pump which I have no idea about since I have never had one and I do not see any floor drains or pipes or sinks to drain my washing machine to. What do I do? Is it OK to put the washer hose into the sump pump well? Please Help!

" Is it ok to put the washer hose into the sump pump well?"
The problem with that is that when you place the discharge hose lower then the flood rim of the washer the water will drain out of the tub.
Would it be possible to cut in a laundry tray or a washer stand pipe in the basement? This could be vented with a AAV,(Air admittance Valve) instead of running a roof vent. Sound like a plan? Regards, Tom

Hi Speedball: I have read a couple of your posts and you seem to be up on basement water problems. My son bought a house about six months ago with a full basement. In the basement floor are 4 of the big (8") bulb type drains (with no trap) and a small 4" drain that looks like it drains to the...

Drainage issues [ 3 Answers ]

Various issues to deal with here, I think. Just moved into a 1 1/2 storey duplex. When draining the kitchen sink, the bathroom sink fills up with waste water and both drain very slowly. The two sinks are opposite one another (separated by a wall), so I assume that they are connected to the same...

Noisy Drainage [ 1 Answers ]

Have begun hearing quite noticeable "cracking" sounds in the walls behind upstairs bathroom whenever water drains from sink or shower (but not toilet). I thought it might be a problem with the water lines and wall studs but have ruled this out by filling sink/tub with stoppers in place. Noise...
