    Basement drainage
I am very confused about my basement drainage. I have a sump pump which I have no idea about since I have never had one and I do not see any floor drains or pipes or sinks to drain my washing machine to. What do I do? Is it OK to put the washer hose into the sump pump well? Please Help!

The problem with that is that when you place the discharge hose lower then the flood rim of the washer the water will drain out of the tub.
Would it be possible to cut in a laundry tray or a washer stand pipe in the basement? This could be vented with a AAV,(Air admittance Valve) instead of running a roof vent. Sound like a plan? Regards, Tom
