    Picture tube problems
    I have a sony Trinitron part#KV-32s40 TV and when you first turn on the TV the picture will come in and out after a bit it will work fine but today for the first time the sceen turned black but the sound still worked. I unpluged from the wall for a few and then hooked back up and is working good now... Would this be my picture tube??

    Not likely. The horizontal deflection system generates the high voltage for the CRT. Once that shuts down, no picture.

I have a Sony Trinitron Color TV - Model no. KV-8AD11 The picture tube kept getting smaller and smaller until now it is just a single line. Occasionally (or if I tap the top robustly) it will expand back to normal. Any ideas? Dave
