    Heart problems
My father, a 72 year old male with a history of heart attack and subsequent quad bypass surgery 16 years prior to now, had a recent episode where he was driving and felt sharp chest pain, everything seemed far away, blacked out and regained consciousness he believes about 30 seconds later. At the hospital he had a normal chemical stress test. The test that checks electrical impulses in the heart was normal although we were told that the time from bottom of heart to top of heart is slow but no treatment is currently needed. His heart cath revealed one blockage that was stinted. We were told that the stinted artery has significant artery narrowing that could not be corrected but that this artery is better then before the stint and that this artery supplies about 10% of the blood flow to his heart and he is getting significant blood flow to heart. The reason for his episode was not determined. I am concerned and wonder if additional treatment and/or testing is warranted?

Unfortunately we are not doctors here. These questions would be best to take up with a cardiologist.

I would assume he is not going to be allowed to "drive" till the reason is discovered ?
