Ceiling fan blades turning slowly after replacing 3-speed switch. What's wrong?
We just replaced the 3-speed switch on our ceiling fan but the blades are turning very slowly and not changing speed at all. This was the problem we were having prior to changing the switch. Is there something else that could be wrong with it?

    What make is the fan?

Put the original switch back in.

The problem is likely the capacitor as KISS states. See:

AC fan blades turning wrong way [ 8 Answers ]

Lennox hs21-111. Fan blades are going the wrong direction, sucking air into the unit. How would this happen? Surely this hasn't been going on for the 10 years we have lived here. Wires on capacitor reversed, perhaps? Thank you.
