What are my chances of catching an STD?
I'm a 14 year old guy. On June 27th I received unprotected oral sex from an older man (only for a few seconds) from this guy I met and we madeout to. After that I went home and took a shower and washed my genatils. I'm scared that I have an std. I know that my biggest risk is hsv1, but dosen't almost everyone have hsv1 anyway? Would it matter if I tested positive for it? Please help me. I have bumps on the shaft of my penis but I had these bumps BEFORE I had oral sex with this guy (that was the only time I ever had sexual contact with anyone in my whole life) and I didn't notice any cold sores or sores on his mouth at all. If almost everyone has hsv1, I don't understand why I should be so worried about it. What are my chances of getting an STD? Please help me.

If you're worried, get tested.

Joe.. you are fourteen and had sex with "an older man", how old and did you know him? Tell your parents.Do you live in the United States? If so, I believe there must be free clinics.

So what are your options?
You need to get seen by a doctor, can you talk to someone else? A older sibling? A aunt/uncle you trust?
Can you pay for it yourself? Savings?
You realise that there is more at stake here then just your health,if you don't know I'm going to tell you.
Your 14 and having under age sex, anything could happen to you,you could get raped, and get more then you bargained for then a std.
Your sexuality is not the issue, your safety is,and you are putting yourself in dangerous situations.
You NEED to confide in an adult who will have your best interests at heart.

Joe.. I hope you realize what Redhead said is true. Nobody here is going to tell on you. We don't know who you are or where you live. We do care about your safety. Do you read the newspaper or watch the news on TV?
If you do then you know how foolish and dangerous it was for you to risk not only your health, but your life. If you met this guy on line how many more guys has he been with? You could have been murdered.
It happens every day. Please talk to someone.

joe4life : NO! I can't tell my parents. i met him online.
You need to tell your parents and go to the police.
You met this guy on-line and had sex with him. He fits the description of a sexual predator. If he knew how old you are, that makes it worse.
This is about more than a possible std. It is about some 'older' man propositioning a child (in the eyes of the law). How many other boys has he 'met' and done more with? What do you think he would expect from another meeting?
He is counting on you being quiet because you "can't tell your parents". Don't stay silent.

Not unless there looking for a std joe.
They will only look for what's on your chart.
If you do have an std/sti it will play havoc with your diabeties.
You could ask if they would check for it,you don't have to go into details just get your health checked.
3 months is a long time to wait.
I understand your scared, and that you don't want your parents to know, and that's understandable.
What about a grandparent,I know that may sound off the wall, but,I can tell you,my daughters have confided in my mother things I would have sworn blind she would not understand, but she did,I found out because my daughters told me.
Your in a spot of bother here joe,try and think of someone.
Edit: see comment box in post 5.

Three months of waiting. You need to grow up now. Your life is more important than anybody knowing.
This older man needs to be in jail. Suppose he does it to someone else ? Get help.
