Did my AC tech just blow my fan motor?
Quick question. AC outer unit trying to cycle on but keeps shutting off. Just blowing hot air inside. Tech came and changed out capacitor but when he flipped the power back on one end of the capacitor was touching the metal AC box and it shorted. He then stripped the wire and reattached the capacitor and then turned on but fan wasn't starting up. He stated fan was bad too. Could his shorting the new capacitor when he started it up have blown the fan motor? If so, worried that I'm now buying a new fan because of his mistake?

Anyone's thoughts? And thanks for the help.

It could have, but most likely the motor was the problem to start with. Not the cap.
