    John Deer stx38 yellow deck has no spark, however engine turns over fine
    I have a John deere stx 38 that turns over fine but has no spark at the plug. I have the power take-off dissengaged and the brake/clutch locked down. Where do I go from here?

    Hey Jesse
    Sounds like the coil went bad,as old as that mower it's a good chance.
    Pull the blower housing off / top cover on motor.
    You'll see the coil / amuture.unplug the little black wire coming to the coil.crank engine and see if you have fire if no bad coil if yes something grounding some where,keep hands away from flywheel when cranking engine. Luck
