    Pumptrol pressure switch 9013fsq?
I have a pump with the switch pumptrol/square D 9013FSQ2... the water inside has been sputtering for about a week and last weekend, I came home to no water. I opened up the top of the switch and it was full of cobwebs so I cleaned it, turned the switched back on and bled the line and it worked fine. However now I have no water again and my previous attempts didn't work this time. What do I do now?

Check and make sure the points on the switch are closing to activate the pump. Don't worry about cobwebs.

Is your pump above ground or below ground? That fact that you have air in the line is a concern.

Check this link to show you the points on a switch. The switch is responsible for turning the pump off/on. It is pressure sensitive, so that when pressure drops due to water being used, the switch points close (come together) and current is sent to the pump. When the pressure gets up to a certain point, then the points "open" and the pump is turned off.

How to adjust water pump pressure, pump cut-on pressure and pump cut-off pressure - private pump and well system do-it-yourself repairs

Karen, how many pipes go from the pump down into the well? Is it one or two? I am thinking that you might have a problem with your water level in the well dropping to such a low point that the pump is pumping more air than water.

Sorry to be so long in replying. This works much better if you will use the "quick reply" option rather than the "comments on this post". The poster will not know you have left a comment, but will easily see that you have left a reply.
