    Painting
    I'm new in the mt view Missouri area and wanting to start up my own painting business . How would I bid on jobs as to be fair to future customers in my new area ? I have been painting off and on for 20 years in Florida .there are no painters in this area of mt view Missouri ! Thanks in advance for any help you can give me

    So this makes you the low bid no matter what, in Mt View at least. Bid 20% lower than you would have in FLorida to get going. If nobody accepts your bids go lower, its mostly supply/demand and how wealthy My Viewers are

    You should charge between $1.50 to 3.50 per square foot. $3.50 if there's a lot of sanding, scraping, powerwashing, caulking, etc.. 1.50 if the job is easy with little prep work. Remember to add material costs to the figure. Also, remember to use contracts protects you and the customer (be specific). Measure width and height, then multiply. Ex. Room is 10x40= 400 square foot x 3.50= $1400 plus materials!
