Beagle eye infection and blood in slimy poop what is wrong with him?
My dog has some kind of eye infection and is not eating his regular dog food (canidae) and I found a spot by the door where he had pooped. His stool was slimy and runny and what concerns me most is that there was clearly blood in his stool. What is wrong with my dog he will eat treats and has drank water I put in front of him.

I don't know what to say other then take him to the vet, for the eye infection, and definitely for blood in stool, which could have a few causes, one being he has eaten something that has maybe cut an intestine. Hard to say. We don't usually diagnose pet ailments any more then we will diagnose human ailments, reason being pre-existing medical conditions and why fool around guessing, especially with pets.

Take him to the vet and spend a few worthwhile bucks on a pet you love and value for friendship and companionship.

He could have worms which would cause the slimey poop. Hookworms and whipworms will create bloody stool with a mucus to it. My dog came to me with hooks and whips.. When the worms were dyine off, it honestly looked like an injured animal was in my backyard. But now we're free and clear :)

The eye infection needs to be addressed. It can get to the point where the infection will cause blindness.

The dog needs to go to the vet for both issues. Be prepared with a stool sample. If you provide one, the bill will be about $30 cheaper.

Canidea has been known to make dogs a bit ill when they first start on it due to the oil. You might want to consider a different food. Natural Balance, Innova and Wellness are good foods I'd recommend.

    Good luck
