    Blower/ac not turning on
    I went to turn on my ac/auto and nothing happened. I flipped the switch to ac/fan, still nothing. After a few minutes I began to smell an "electrical burning" smell from the thermostat and it got hot. I turned it off and tried again a few minutes later. No smell but no response.

    It could be the thermostat BUT I would be inclined to check the indoor blower motor first.
