    I was told that because I already paid my rent for this month that even if I am terminating my lease with their approval, they can keep the five days remaining for the month which will be $200.00.

    This is true. You rent the house monthly, not daily, correct?

    Hello J:

    I'd agree with my lawyer friend, IF they didn't APPROVE of your moving... But, they did, so I think you're entitled to your $200.

    The only way you're going to get it, though, is to sue them in small claims court. The judge, of course, might rule against you.
