Leave of absence for a repeated Dui
Can you get a leave of absence for a repeated Dui (mandatory 180 days jail time) from an employee without being let go? Is there away to negotiate?

Also can you collect unemployment after you are let out of jail?

    Hello d:

If your employer wants to hire you again after you get out, that's up to him. If he doesn't, no, you can't get unemployment... Although going to jail doesn't LOOK like you quit, for unemployment purposes, you did. Therefore you're not eligible.

You won't get unemployment as you quit your job. And as for negotiating a leave of absence for 6 months you'll have to do some great talking to have that happen. Unless you are extremely valuable to your employer I don't see this happening.
