I have for the first time experienced clots which started after normal period cycle of 5days, although it was a week late.. but was excited when the last day arrived, it normally is very light or so I thought as halfway through the day I started gushing clots that freaked me out. It went on for about 3 days, then it stopped and was just a trace on the fourth day then it started all over again. I thought maybe because I'm heading into menopause (47 now) it's probably normal, then throbbing headaches started that was quite severe and lasted three days, as suddenly as it appeared it just disappeared. I'm still passing clots now into my 19th day today and my doc has prescribed norethisterone tabs. Awaiting further tests to ascertain what exactly is going on!
Would like to know if anyone had similar experience?

I am 41 and had a miscarriage in nov last year 4 months after I started gushing blood, it would just come out no cramping nothing, I've had scans and may have start of fibroids, but last week I had really big clots every half hour and gushing blood, I ended up in tears and called doc as I was getting worried it wouldn't stop, they gave me norethisterone and my bleeding stopped after 2 tablets, I lost that much blood I had serious iron deficiency anaemia, I am now on iron tablets and got 2 days left of norethisterone and I too and dreading it all happening again. My doc told me my really bad headaches were not the norethisterone, it was the fact I'd lost a lot of blood therefore losing iron in my blood too, so eat loads of things with iron in!! I have broccolli with everything! Got a gyno appointment next Friday so see what they think, I should have started with the clots by then!! Goood luck

Aspirin will actually worsen bleeding as it is a blood thinner.
