Tub - hot water stopped working
Hi,
I was hoping someone could provide advise. The hot water in my tub suddenly stopped working. The hot water coming out of the sink works fine. The other bathroom has hot water coming out just fine. Is the problem possibly in the Mixing valve? House is 18 years old, but I bought it a year ago so I don't know how old it is. I have a sterling series 025, 026, single lever: http://www.ppd1.biz/sterling025026.pdf When the lever is turned to hot, the water pressure does not decrease. Water just doesn't get hot, stays cold. I just had this happen to me a few months ago. Not saying I know this is the same thing but something you can check out. In the part of the spigot where you turn it from shower to tub there is a screw. Behind that gets worn out and or dirty from lead etc. and blocks the hot water. Why just the hot? I can't remember now lol My hubby fixed ours. Sorry that is all I know. |
