How do I put new line on my Homelite d830sd model trimmer
We went to work in Germany and I didn't use it for four years. I loaned it to my son in law and he used all the line up and the gas... I honestly have only spent about an hour trying to put new line on. I was just looking for a quick diagram or instructions on how to put new line on. I did it several years ago, but I will keep working on it. Thans in advance if anyone would like to take the time to give me a quick hand. I appreciate it.

Here is a diagram of the trimmer: Homelite D830SD Parts List and Diagram - (UT-20621) : eReplacementParts.com Don't know if it will help.

They have a tool forum if no one answers here.

I can't figure out how to remove the metal cylinder (where rod goes) so I can remove orange housing - and reach cord to replace. On top of cylinder is a piece that looks like it might have star screw down inside of it. Any help would be appreciated. Cyn
