Why do I have this discharge and how can I treat it without getting birth control.
I have not had my period for three months since I started getting white gooey discharge. I am now on Keflex due to sore throat and I the discharge is now snot-like and clear. It is common for me to miss my period about two months between them for the past year, though I have only have my period about three years. Please tell me why I have this discharge and how to treat it without getting birth control because I am a virgin and am afraid to go to the doctor. PLEASE! PLEASE! PLEASE!

This could be anything or nothing - I don't know why you think treatment will involve birth control or have anything to do with your virginity. What is your concern?

This could be serious and you should consult with a Physician. Who put you on Keflex?

I was put on Keflex because of my sore throat and cough that came out of nowhere, since I haven't been sick in at least over a year. I don't think treatment would deal with my virginity. I only meant to say that I am a virgin and couldn't be pregnant, so this wouldn't be why I haven't had my period. I basically just want to know if anyone else has had the same situation in their lives and what they were given to fix it. I am nervous when it comes to obgyns and hope there is another way to end my nonexistent period streak.

I am less concerned about your failure to have a period and more concerned about the discharge. No one says, "Oh, good, I'm going to the Gynecologist" (at least no one I know) BUT if there is a problem you might very well be sorry that you didn't go.
