    Weird?
OK. So how weird is this? I got married to a beautiful southern girl when I was about 19. We were both young and in the military. We PCS'd (moved) to Okinawa early in our marriage. Long story short she decided that she would not be faithful and I found out yadi yadi yada... Anyway we ended up divoriced. I went about my business, got out of the military and am now successful. I still get the military updates in email as I like to stay on top of things. I noticed about 8 months ago they had the promotions in there and low and behold there was my X-wife being promoted to MSgt. So I decided what the heck so I skipped her down and called her to congratulate her as that is a huge accomplishment, and I am a firm believer of life is too short to hate anyone and I did love her at one point -- right. Mind you this is after about 15 years. She was floored we talked for a minute and that was it. Well she called back the next day and said I had to call her mom because her mom has been upset for all these years because she loved me so much and one day I was there and the next I wasn't. So I did. Then my X calls me again and without going in to a lot of detail says that she was dumb for the past and has felt bad all these years and all that she has wanted is me back. Well now she wants me to fly out and see her. I am actually thinking about it. Is that just weird though?

After 15 years, you can't go back to "as it was" but you can try and see if you can move forward with her

I know that, but isn't that just a bit weird? I don't know I guess I have heard of it happening before

Um, maybe after all this time, talking back and forth, would be wiser, instead of jumping back into a frying pan you jumped out of long ago. Especially given the confusion recently here.

    Hello s:

Yeah, pretty weird... When I attend my 50th high school reunion this summer, I've got a date with a girl who I'm STILL turned on to after kissing her 55 years ago. What's even WEIRDER, is that she's still turned on to me...

Or, in matters of the heart, it AIN'T weird at all.

Oh, I know that definitely. Not jumping back into anything (especially with the recent confusion -- which I will be taking everyone's advice). I think it would be interesting to see her though. I do know that I have to be careful as she has already made comments that make it seem like she just wants to go forward.

I know... You know the thing is that I look back at my parents who have been married for like 40 years, happily. I look at me and I see myself alone. Don't get me wrong I am fine alone, prefer it most of the time actually, but...
