Hi,
I got 10 gallon tank for about 5 weeks now but I'm having problems can someone help me. I startet with 4 zebra danio. They ar fine but the nitrites an nitrates are so high. Ammonia has been 0 for to weeks. I have done 25%-30%water changes every day in past 4 days and adding water conditioner every time. I haven't seen any changes nitrites are as much high as u can't find it on the chart of my test kit. I have some live plants in my tank. My Local pet store gave me some gravel from theyr aquariums to buil up bacteria but its not working. I have done everything I could. Can some one help me to lower my nitrites an nitrates. Thank you

You're changing your water too much. Each day your taking out a portion of your water, which is equalling a full tank water change, or at least very close to it.

Your fish shouldn't be in any danger. Danios are tough. They also have adapted to the high nitrates and nitrites.

Please stop changing your water daily. To maintain a healthy take, 25% of the water should be taken out once or twice a week. A 50% water change should be done every month or every two months, depending on how dirty your fish are.

Adding gravel from an established tank is a good idea, however its not enough. Your good bacteria is dying off. You need to rebuild it. Allow the tank to get a little dirty. The live plants will help boost your live bacteria.

A good additive to add on a daily basis is PRIME by Seachem. It's a dechlorinator but also has live bacteria in it. There is also another product that is nothing BUT live bacteria. I believe that gets added once or twice a week.
