Frigidaire gas dryer is leaking oil/staining clothes. Can I fix this myself?
My 2 year old Frigidaire energy efficient gas dryer has been slowly leaking oil for about a year, but it is only visible on white/light clothing. We recently realized where the light gray stains were coming from when an entire load of whites was completely ruined but hundreds of these little oil stains which have now become slightly darker. I have tried to rewash the clothes to remove the stains but they are there for good. My husband and I have unsuccessfully torn the house apart looking for the warranty information, and cannot afford a repairman right now. Is there something we can do to pull it apart and find the problem ourselves? If not, do you foresee this being an expensive repair from a professional?
