    Small claim question
I received money from my aunt to pay vet bills and my aunt said to pay back when I could. My aunt and mom got into a fight over an animal incident between our two dogs and my aunt said to me that I must pay back now (the enitre moneys). I thought she was just angry over the situation so let some time pass but her mind didn't change. I paid some money and my aunt calmed down and said not to worry about the rest of payment and write my name on notebook paper with payment and signed it to say the money was paid. My aunt later asked when I would pay more money and I asked why because she said that it was done? She said if I don't pay she will go to court. Do I need to pay rest even if she said before I didn't need to? I also not sure because I also lent my aunt money one summer toward her pool and she didn't pay this back to me. I bring this up but she said because I used her pool like a customer, I cannot be paid back. It made no sense but she said it like that. Is it true? Can I sue for it if we went to court? I am not sure these situation and appreciate opinion

What will happen if she sues you is you will go to Court and explain your position; she will explain hers.

When you made the payment did she acknowledge that payment or say the debt was paid in full? If she didn't say it was paid in full, then you still owe her.

The pool is a side issue. If you want to sue her for that money you can always try.

Was any of this in writing?

The legal answer also is that you agreed you would pay her WHEN YOU COULD - no specific date. Maybe you can't and that's your defense.

However, this is family. I would pay her and have it done with. That's not legal advice. I also wouldn't lend/borrow when family is concerned.
