Lawsuit again law enforcement and court
I was arrested in 1999 for obstruction of an officer without force and in Sept. 2003 for failure to appear but I never received any court papers, while I was in jail my boyfriend had me locked up for burgulary. I only took my belongings out of our mobile home. I went today to have all charges expunged because all charges were dropped. Only to find out that I still have 2 open felonies. One for the burgulary that was dropped almost 7 years ago and a felony obstruction charge I didn't do. I haven't been able to get a job or go back to school because of it. I got a criminal background from the sheriff's office today it said all charges were dismissed but the clerk of court told me I had the 2 felonies still open. Someone isn't doing there job and it is costing me big time. Do I have a lawsuit against them for all of this? I need help how do I expunge my records if there are still open but are supposed to be closed? They were supposed to be closed almost 7 years ago. And where did the felony charge come from if I didn't do it?

You need to get an attorney to straighten this mess out for you.

You need to go to the court where the charges are suppose to be from and get a letter from the judge that there are no current charges, or have them state that the specific charge ( there will be a warrant or case number) has been resolved.
It is possible that one case was closed and another open

Hello, my friend wants to become a law enforcement officer. He has been speaking to me about it, and is worried, because he has smoked weed, and shoplifted in the past. Are deleted emails saved by email companies for law enforcement or civil law [ 5 Answers ]

I heard that Google keeps your searches (by IP address) for six months or more, Microsoft a year and a half! So I got to thinking about emails. Text is trivially small to store and never delete. And with memory only becoming cheaper and more expansive, the downside for keeping information will...
