Can you evict tenants with an infant?
I am a landlord in the Portland, OR. Area. The young tenants living in my rental are nice people and have been living there for the last 10 months. I was unaware that the wife was pregnant when they moved in. They have been good tenants and even made some improvements on the house. The husband has had three or four jobs and doesn't seem to be able to keep a job. The wife says she has had the same job for four or five years. The wife being on pregnancy leave and the husband's inability to keep a job has gotten me to be increasingly apprehensive about whether they will continue to pay rent. The baby has arrived. I was told by an associate (not a lawyer) that I may not be able to legally evict them if they stop paying rent. Is there any truth to that?
