Rust Stains on the Inside, Bottom Surface of an Ivory Colored Sink
    Hi, All!

I'm in a dilemma! It's a sink that isn't all that old. I accidentally left a tin can on the bottom surface of it and it left rust marks.

I'm not really sure if it's porcelain or ceramic. It's in the kitchen.

Is there a safe way to remove the stains that won't damage the finish, please?

I guess the first thing to do would be to determine what it's made of.

Would like help with that, also.

    Thanks!

Best remover for rust/calcium/lime is CLR... available at all home improvement stores nowadays. Take a little and test the sink finish first, but you really shouldn't be able to harm the finish on a ceramic/porcelain sink using CLR... ;)

A picture would be needed to confirm the sink finish, but as stated, I'd try the CLR as I have used it on many tub/sink/toilet surfaces with no issues.

The product is Ring "B" Gone. It is tremendous on rust stains. Barkeepers Friend is also good.

    Hi, jlisenbe!

I purchased and used the CLR. It didn't seem to do that much good on these particular rust stains. Resorted to using a soft Brillo pad with Comet. Most of the stains are gone, but it took a lot of work.

I will try the RING-B-GONE on these particular types of rust stains, the next time. I know about the Bar Keepers Friend. Had just forgotten about it.

    Thanks!
