Couple questions about converting copper to PEX
    Hello,
I have city water with good pressure that comes in off the street in a 1/2" copper line.
I am going to install a Manabloc Manifold and have a couple questons.

    1. Can I use a copper to PEX coupling where my water enters my house (after the stop valve and meter of course)?
    2. If so and since the manabloc inlet is 1" should I use a 1/2" copper to 1" Pex coupling and then run the 1" PEX to a Tee feeding hot water heater, and Manabloc manifold, or just run the 1/2" PEX to hot water heater and manifold?

    Thank you,
    Mike

You should immediately upsize from the 1/2" copper water service pipe to the 1" PEX.

Is it better to use copper instead of pex if you are worried about leaks? I'm in the process rehabing some apartments and the plumbers used pex instead of copper. I wanted them to run home-runs but they resisted and I ended up with pex fittings inside of walls. Now I'm reading about a class...

We are redoing the majority of the supply in a house we are remodeling. Is there any code or standard on using pex when attaching the water heater. The supply comes in the house as copper. I've always been curious as to why on a house that is entirely plumbed with pex they use the "L" shaped copper pieces at the location of sinks and toilets. I'll try attaching a picture as an example. Would a pex elbow and a short pice of pex tubing accompish the same thing? Also why is the...

I am going to have a humidifer installed on my furnace. The house is plumbed with Pex through out. I assumed that there would be a short piece of copper coming from the water heater, but there is not. I need a short piece of copper to mount a Saddle valve on to supply the water to the humidifer. I...
