    Obscounding
My son is on probation in Michigan and today he got a warrant from his probation officer and has to turn himself in. he has been out for three months and has not physically seen her but has talked to her on the phone we live 2 plus hours away and tried to get transferred closer to home. What happens when he turns himself in. she mentioned something about obscounding. What does this mean.

Absconding is another word for unlawful fleeing such as escape from jail.

What happens when he turns himself in? He'll be held in jail until his Violation of Probation hearing and he appears before the Judge. He can't be out of jail as the court does not trust him any longer to show up in court when he's supposed to.
