Recoil starters for small engine troubleshoot
I have an 8 HP techumseh engine on my snowblower. The recoil starter worked after 2 pulls but now it won't start at all with the recoil. It starts immediately with the electric start. I press the rubber primer twice before starting. Gas is getting to the carburetor. I replaced the spark plug. I don't know what could be wrong with the recoil. Thanks

If it has points it could be they need to be replaced,
Or the coil could be getting weak.
When you pull the rope you don't always pull as fast as a starter turns it.
