    Is an L1 visa holder eligible for the homebuyers tax credit
    If I hold an L1 visa am I eligible to apply for the $8000 first homebuyers tax credit?

    Yes, if you are eligible to file resident tax return. Complete Form 5405 and include a copy of the settlement statement showing all parties' names and signatures, property address, sales price, and date of purchase. Normally, this is the properly executed Form HUD-1, Settlement Statement. Your U.S. Tax Return: First-Time Homebuyer Credit
